The Advent Vega tablet which has been expected to come out in Dixons stores across the UK today has been delayed from it’s expected release date (which was today) for a release this weekend. The low-price tab which is supposedly to appeal to ‘the masses’ is expected to become a formidable player in the tablet market, especially in the competitive Christmas season.
A spokesperson for Advent regarding the matter of the delay said that “We want to get the Advent Vega exactly right. There’s no point getting the Vega onto the shelves if it’s not right” and that we should be seeing the device come in sometime after Thursday with devices expected to be hitting shelves over the weekend. There have supposedly been sightings of the tablet in the UK, although it seems these sightings are sadly mistaken as there is supposedly not a single one in the UK at this time.
The Android 2.2 Froyo packing Advent Vega tablet is boasting a 10-inch 1024 x 600 HD highly responsive touchscreen, an NVIDIA CPU, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, and 802.11bg WiFi.
